90 Nepali nationals deported from US arrive in Kathmandu on chartered flight

Kathmandu: The Department of Immigration has confirmed that 90 Nepali citizens have been deported from the United States and have arrived in Kathmandu via a chartered flight.

According to Director General of the Department of Immigration, Ram Chandra Tiwari, more than 400 Nepali citizens have been deported from the US so far. He said that the latest group of 90 deportees arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered aircraft.

The deported individuals include those who lacked valid documents required to reside and work in the United States and were found to have violated US immigration laws.

The Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police is conducting an investigation into the matter. The bureau has urged the deported individuals to lodge complaints if they were victims of human trafficking.

The bureau stated that the deportees will be handed over to their respective families after the necessary investigation is completed.
