National natural resources and finance commission submits annual report to far western province chief

Kailali: The National Natural Resources and Finance Commission has submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2081/82 to Far Western Province Chief Nazir Miyan. In line with Article 294 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072, Acting Chairman Juddha Bahadur Gurung formally handed over the report to the provincial chief.

The Commission, operating under the functions, duties, and powers defined by the Constitution of Nepal, the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission Act, 2074 BS, and the Inter-Governmental Finance Management Act, 2074 BS, provides recommendations to the federal, provincial, and local governments on matters including revenue sharing under fiscal federalism, fiscal equalization grants, conditional grants, internal debt limits, expenditure responsibilities, and measures to enhance revenue collection.

Acting Chairman Gurung stated that the annual report highlights the Commission’s activities during the fiscal year 2081/82, specifically related to the Far Western Province and its local governments. He presented the report with a summary of key activities and recommendations to the provincial chief.

Provincial Chief Miyan acknowledged the submission, expressing appreciation for the Commission’s role in supporting natural resource management and financial empowerment across all three levels of government.
