Dhangadhi: Provincial Assembly member Laxman Kishore Chaudhary, elected from the Civil Liberation Party, has clarified that he has not joined the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, refuting recent media reports claiming otherwise.

Chaudhary said that although he appeared on stage during a party entry program in Kathmandu on Monday along with Laxman Tharu, he did not formally join the party and was only present at the event.

He stated that since the Civil Liberation Party has merged with the NCP, he remains aligned with the party into which it has merged. “I have not joined the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. I went to watch yesterday’s program. I went to meet Ravi, Balen and Kulman,” he said. “My friends made me stand on the stage while taking photos, which is why the photos appeared.”

MP Chaudhary further explained that he had gone to discuss a bridge construction plan with Kulman related to his constituency. He added that he only took photographs with Tharu leaders who had joined the party.

He also said that joining any party is not a priority for him at present, as he is unwell and has no plans to contest the upcoming elections.
