UML recommends three candidates from Kailali-5 for upcoming elections

Dhangadhi: The CPN-UML has recommended the names of three individuals from Kailali-5 for the upcoming elections scheduled to be held on Falgun 21.

According to UML Kailali Deputy Secretary Chudamani Bhatta, a meeting of the Election Regional Coordination Committee recommended Naradmuni Rana, Yagyaraj Dhungana and Sarita Sijapati as candidates.

Rana had been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 2074 BS after defeating Arju Rana, but was defeated by the Congress–Maoist alliance in the previous election. Dhungana currently serves as the Kailali District President, while Sijapati is a member of the Provincial Committee.

Earlier, the name of Central Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta was recommended alone from Kailali-4, while no candidates have yet been recommended from constituencies 1, 2 and 3. The UML has issued a circular directing constituencies to send three names to the center, including two from the open category and one woman. Deputy Secretary Bhatta said that only one name can be recommended from a constituency where consensus exists.
