New 4G tower brings internet access to remote villages of Bajhang
Bajhang: Communication problems faced by locals in Darugaun of Khaptad Chhanna Rural Municipality-3 have been resolved after Nepal Telecom brought a new tower and 4G service into operation. Previously, telephone services were available only for a few hours a day, leaving the village without communication for the rest of the time.
Dhanraj Khadka, who operates a homestay in Darugaun, said he had faced many difficulties due to the lack of network access. He stated that locals have now experienced great relief as phone and internet services are available around the clock.
Similar improvements have been seen in other remote settlements of Bajhang following the expansion of Nepal Telecom’s services. After Tihar, new towers came into operation in Lokanda of Talkot-4, Sunikot of Ward 1, Chhabis Pathibhara-4, Kailas Pimi of Jayaprithi Municipality-1, Koteli of Ward 5 and Surma Rural Municipality.
Bhim Bohara of Surma Rural Municipality said that he previously had to walk for hours to find a network, but with the construction of the tower, internet services are now available at home.
According to Nepal Telecom, new towers are being constructed and 4G capacity is being expanded in areas with weak network coverage. Internet speed has improved after the installation of high-capacity equipment in towers in Thalara, Chhabispathibhara and Bitthadchir.
Nepal Telecom has also stated that more villages in Bajhang will gain access to communication services once the towers currently under construction in Durgathali-5 and Sunkuda Bazaar in Bitthadchir come into operation within the next week.
