Everyone’s support vital for successful election: Prime Minister Karki

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized that the cooperation and support of all stakeholders are essential to ensure the success of the upcoming election scheduled for Falgun 21.

During a meeting with editors of various media outlets at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Prime Minister Karki discussed the country’s current political situation, election preparations, and government activities, according to her secretariat.

She informed that the government is making maximum efforts to create a conducive environment for the election and that the situation is gradually improving. She also mentioned that discussions have been held between the government and political parties to ensure the election’s success.

Prime Minister Karki expressed her commitment to conducting the election by taking all sides into confidence and handing over power to the new government thereafter. She stated that the government’s primary goals are to uphold good governance and successfully conduct the Falgun 21 election with enthusiastic public participation, emphasizing that the election will not restrict political parties.

Acknowledging that she assumed leadership under challenging circumstances, Prime Minister Karki said she is not deterred by criticism.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, Minister for Energy, Water Resources, Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Law Minister Anil Kumar Sinha, and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel were also present during the discussion.
