15 Gamblers arrested in Kanchanpur during police raids

Dhangadhi: Police have arrested 15 individuals involved in gambling activities in Kanchanpur, apprehending them from Beldadi and Daiji areas of the district.

According to police, eight people were arrested at Jhalak Cafe, operated by Lokendra Badal in Beldadi Rural Municipality-2, Chauvanni Bazaar, at 4 am on Tuesday. Acting on a confidential tip-off about gambling on the cafe’s second floor, a team from the Area Police Office, Beldadi, seized six decks of cards and Rs 27,865 in cash along with the eight individuals.

Later, at 10:30 am on Tuesday, seven more people were arrested from the house of Yogsingh Mali in Beldadi Chowk, Daiji, Vedkot Municipality-3. Police, acting on another confidential tip-off, confiscated four decks of cards and Rs 51,260 during the check, taking the seven gamblers into custody.
