Tarun Dal regional coordinator arrested in Kailali weapon attack case

Dhangadhi: Police have arrested another suspect in connection with the attack on 32-year-old Gaurav Air of Dadeldhura, who was assaulted with a sharp weapon in Godavari, Kailali.

The arrested individual has been identified as Teju Rokaya, coordinator of Tarun Dal Kailali Region No. 5 Province (B), according to the police. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajkumar Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office, said Rokaya was taken into custody on Tuesday evening.

Rokaya was arrested near the Nepal-India border while attempting to flee, police said. The vehicle he was using had been seized by police from the Rajghat area of Dhangadhi on Monday. With his arrest, the number of individuals detained in connection with the incident has reached 12, while three others remain at large.

Gaurav Air, a resident of Navadurga Rural Municipality in Dadeldhura, was attacked with a sharp weapon at Shubham Hotel in Godavari Municipality-4 on Sunday night. Earlier, police had arrested 11 members of a group led by Bhim Nepali, also known as Sunny, who were allegedly involved in the attack and associated with a gang operating in Dhangadhi under the name "Cobra Sarkar," while they were fleeing to India.
