Eight people killed, 122 injured in road accidents during Dashain in Sudurpaschim

Dhangadhi: Eight people have lost their lives in road accidents during Dashain in Sudurpaschim Province, while 122 others sustained injuries.

The Sudurpaschim Province Traffic Police Office, Attariya, reported a total of 49 road accidents across five districts from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima. Kailali and Kanchanpur recorded the highest number of accidents, with 21 each. In Kailali, four people died and 54 were injured, while Kanchanpur saw two fatalities and 37 injuries.

In Baitadi, five road accidents resulted in one death and 14 injuries. Darchula reported one death and 10 injuries, and Dadeldhura recorded seven injuries in a single accident.

No road accidents were reported in Doti, Bajura, Achham, and Bajhang during the Dashain festival period.
