Home Minister Lekhak announces plan to resign on moral grounds
Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has informed leaders of the Nepali Congress that he is preparing to resign, citing moral responsibility.
His decision comes in the wake of the government’s crackdown on the Gen-G movement, which left 19 people dead on Monday. According to reports, 17 people were killed in Kathmandu and two in Itahari after police opened fire on protesters.
More than 300 individuals have also been injured in the police action.
