First Balmiki inter-school futsal championship kicks off in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: The inaugural Valmiki Inter-School Futsal Championship has officially begun in Dhangadhi. During the opening ceremony, chief guest and Sudurpaschim Province Social Development Minister Meghraj Khadka emphasized the importance of sports for physical fitness and mental well-being.
Minister Khadka highlighted that students’ education should extend beyond textbooks to include life skills such as leadership, confidence, discipline, and teamwork. “Institutional schools have provided quality education, helping to curb capital flight for education,” he added.
Organized Based on Educational Philosophy
Valmiki School Principal Dronashish Neupane explained that the championship is organized to implement the school’s educational philosophy, emphasizing that student growth extends beyond classrooms to playgrounds, where values such as confidence, leadership, and cooperation are learned.
School Management Committee Chairman Dinesh Raj Bhandari stated that Valmiki School was established to prevent capital flight for education, adding, “Education should create skilled human resources, while sports help connect society and the nation.”
Participation of 19 Schools, Attractive Prizes
A total of 19 schools from Dhangadhi are participating in the three-day championship, which will feature eight matches. The winning team will receive Rs 30,000 in cash along with a trophy, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 20,000 in cash and a trophy.
