One dead, five injured in electrocution incident during fair preparations in Achham
Achham: One person died and five others were injured in an electrocution incident in Achham.
The accident occurred when a metal Nepali flagpole came into contact with an electric wire during preparations for a fair marking Krishna Janmashtami near the Bardadevi Temple in Jayagarh Bazar, Jayagarh Rural Municipality-1.
Rohit Saud, 16, of Nandegada, Mellekh Rural Municipality-7, who sustained critical injuries, died while undergoing treatment at Bayalpata Provincial Hospital, Achham, according to District Police Office Chief Om Prakash Khanal.
The injured—Sameer Shah, 18, of Jayagarh-6, Bannigadhi; Binod Rawat, 17, and Bam Shah, 20, of Mugsain, Sanfebagar Municipality-4; and Shamsher Saud, 16, of Bhatakatia, Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-6—are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Hospital officials said the condition of all injured individuals is normal.
