Flood forecasting division warns of flash flood risk in eight Far-west districts

Dhangadhi: The Flood Forecasting Division under the Department of Water and Meteorology has issued an alert, warning of possible flooding in 40 districts across the country today, including a flash flood risk in eight districts of the Far West.

According to the division’s bulletin, water levels in small rivers and streams flowing through several districts are expected to rise significantly. The division has cautioned that there is a high possibility of a moderate risk of flash floods in Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, and nearby areas.

Similarly, small rivers in Bajura, Bajhang, Darchula, and Baitadi are also expected to see a significant rise in flow, with a medium possibility of a moderate flash flood risk, the bulletin stated.
