Baitadi: Moderate rainfall has been recorded at the Dilasaini rain gauge station in Baitadi over the past three hours, raising concerns about rising water levels in small rivers.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a risk of a sudden increase in water flow in small rivers across the area, and locals have been urged to take necessary precautions.

Earlier, the department reported moderate rainfall at the rain gauge stations of Gumthang and Bahrabise in Sindhupalchowk, Jiri, Busti, and Singati in Dolakha, as well as Salleri and Pekaranas in Solukhumbu. With more rainfall expected in these regions in the coming hours, authorities have also warned of potential landslides in steep and fragile terrains.
