Rs 3.5 lakh worth of customs evasion goods seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: Police have seized goods worth approximately Rs 3.5 lakh illegally imported from India by evading customs at various locations in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.
Patrolling teams under the District Police Office, Kailali, recovered abandoned items along the Shahid Gate road section of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-3 and the Aranwa road section of Tikapur Municipality-8. The seized items include bidis, tobacco, panipuri, kurta surwal, dhoti, and other goods. The estimated value of these items is Rs 175,000, according to police.
Similarly, a patrol team deployed from Police Post Parasan found goods smuggled from India on the inner roadside at Tauke Bazaar, Punarbas Municipality-11, in Kanchanpur district. The seized items include suitcases, plastic film, plastic rope, and a motorcycle, with an estimated value of Rs 189,000.
All confiscated materials have been handed over to the Trinagar Customs Office, Dhangadhi, for necessary legal action.
