Darchula: Despite receiving a separate budget heading in the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83, the Tinker Road in Darchula has been allocated only Rs 1 crore, drawing criticism for the limited funding.

The Tusarpani–Tinker section, which has been separated from the broader Mahakali Corridor project, is now listed under its own heading. However, stakeholders have expressed disappointment that the allocated amount is insufficient for significant progress.

Darchula's Member of Parliament and former minister Dilendra Prasad Badu raised the issue in Parliament, criticizing the government for allotting a minimal budget to the strategically important Darchula–Tinker Road. The 79-kilometer-long stretch is currently being constructed by the Nepali Army, but progress has reportedly been hindered due to inadequate financial resources.

In the current fiscal year, the Army initiated work by deploying excavators via helicopter to Chhangru and began opening road tracks from both ends. However, with only Rs 10 million allocated for the next fiscal year, concerns remain about the pace and effectiveness of the project.
