Gas leak sparks house fire in Kanchanpur, property loss exceeds Rs 15 lakhs

Kanchanpur: A house fire triggered by a gas leak in Kanchanpur has caused property damage estimated at over Rs 15 lakhs.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the residence of local Ganesh Pant in Bansah, Shuklaphanta Municipality-1. The blaze, which originated from a gas leak in the kitchen, destroyed property, clothing, and furniture in the house.

The fire was brought under control after several hours with the assistance of the fire brigade and local residents. Fortunately, no human or livestock casualties were reported. Police said further details regarding the extent of the damage are yet to be received.
