Kailali: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign launched by his party has rekindled hope among the people.

Speaking at an awareness meeting organized by the party's District Coordination Committee Kailali in Baispur, Kailari Rural Municipality-7 today, Chairman Dahal stated that the campaign had allowed the party to connect with the public and understand their joys and hardships. “We have found new enthusiasm, hope and confidence when we listen to the problems of the oppressed classes and communities while being among them,” he said.

He acknowledged that the party had been weakening due to a lack of strong relationships with the people and emphasized that the awakening campaign was initiated to rebuild and strengthen those ties. Dahal reaffirmed his commitment to restoring relations with the families of martyrs, missing persons, the injured, and the disabled.

“We have started the awareness campaign after concluding that the main reason for our weakness is the lack of efforts to strengthen the relations between farmers, workers, women, Dalits, indigenous peoples, Madhesis, Tharus and other communities,” he added.

Chairman Dahal further warned of emerging conspiracies against the federal democratic republic, stating that the strength of the people would once again be essential to defend the achievements gained through sacrifice.

The Tarai-Madhes awareness campaign, which has been centered on the Postal Highway and began from Jhapa on Falgun 2, is scheduled to conclude in Kanchanpur on Wednesday.
