Sanskar cricket league: Sudurpaschim hostel and western academy secure convincing wins

Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Hostel and Nepal Western Academy emerged victorious in today's matches of the ongoing ‘Team 11 Sanskar Cricket League T-20 Open Cricket Competition’ being held in Dhangadhi.

In the first match, Sudurpaschim Hostel defeated Cambridge School by a commanding margin of 93 runs. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Sudurpaschim Hostel posted a total of 161 runs in 20 overs, losing all their wickets. Bishal Bista contributed 38 runs, Ashok Bista scored 23, while Rajesh Iyer, Raju Rijal, and Deepak Chand added 17 runs each. For Cambridge, Rabin Bhandari and Deepak Shahi took three wickets apiece, and Dipesh Jaishi claimed two.

In response, Cambridge was bowled out for just 68 runs in 14.5 overs. Rabin Rawal top-scored with 22, and Prakash Majhi added 14 runs. Sudurpaschim Hostel’s Neeraj Iyer and Saurya Shrestha took two wickets each to seal the win.

In the second match of the day, Nepal Western Academy defeated North Trishul by 34 runs. Batting first, Western scored 140 runs in 19.3 overs. Shahil Shrestha led the innings with an unbeaten 50, while Aryan Danpali contributed 38 runs. For North Trishul, Anup Chhedal took four wickets, Bishal BK took three, and Bishal Khadka took two.

Chasing the target of 141, North Trishul was restricted to 116 runs in their 20 overs. Bishal BK scored 45, and Bishal Khadka made 27 runs. For Western, Sunil Singh was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, followed by Shahil Shrestha with three and Abhishek Kunwar with two.

The competition is organized by Sanskar Vidyashram Manteshwari School at Syaule Bazaar, Godavari Municipality-8, with Team 11 as the main sponsor. A total of 13 teams are participating, and the tournament will run until Baisakh 8. The champion team will receive a cash prize of Rs 111,000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 55,500, according to competition chair Ramchandra Shahi.
