12 arrested in Kailali with heroin and banned tablets

Dhangadhi: Twelve individuals have been arrested in Kailali with 5 grams 660 milligrams of brown heroin and 72 tablets of banned drugs in a single day.

Acting on a confidential tip-off that Gaurav Acharya was consuming drugs at a house in Ghodaghodi Municipality-1, Sukhad, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office Sukhad arrested Gaurav Acharya, 25, Surendra Shrestha, 34, and Bhim Bohara, 22, of Ghodaghodi Municipality-1. A total of 3 grams 580 milligrams of brown heroin was recovered from them.

Meanwhile, a police team from the Area Police Office Tikapur arrested Santosh BK, 18, and Bandana BK, 23, both from Ektanagar Camp, Tikapur Municipality-1, near the Khakraula check post. They were found in possession of 1 gram 420 milligrams of brown heroin.

Similarly, a police team from the Crime Investigation Group of the District Police Office, Kailali, arrested five individuals — Vivek Rana, 22, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-6; Akash Rana, 18, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-7; Bhim Sunar, 22, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-9; Dinesh Bohara, 26, and Vishal Bohara, 25, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City. A total of 660 milligrams of brown heroin was recovered from them.

In a separate operation, a joint police team from Area Police Office Bahuliya, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-19 Lalipur Ghat, and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office Dhangadhi arrested Rohit Bogati, 28, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-12, and Lokendra Khadka, 22, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-8. A total of 72 tablets of banned drugs were seized from them.

According to the District Police Office Kailali, all 12 individuals were arrested on Wednesday and are in custody for necessary legal action. Further investigation is underway.
