Rape of two girls revealed in Baitadi

Baitadi: Rape of two girls has been revealed in Baitadi. A 25-year-old man from Melauli has been arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl from Melauli Municipality in the district. The police arrested him on Sunday after receiving a complaint that the man had raped the girl in Asad and Kartik 2080.

The arrested man has been kept in the custody of the Area Police Office, Patan. Similarly, a 30-year-old man from the same place has been arrested on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl from Shivnath Rural Municipality. He was arrested on Sunday based on a complaint that the man raped the girl in Magh last year after cheating. Police Inspector Baldev Badu, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi, said that the police will provide information about how the incident unfolded only after the investigation.

Badu informed that the investigation has begun after the court extended the remand of the arrested person for 10 days. Police have stated that both incidents are under investigation and that the identities of the perpetrators are being kept confidential as making their names public could cause further harm to the victims.
