Woman arrested in Kanchanpur for illegal wildlife poaching

Kanchanpur: A woman has been arrested in Kanchanpur in connection with illegal wildlife poaching.

Acting on a confidential tip-off regarding wildlife poaching at Pramod Dagaura’s residence in Simpur, Belauri Municipality-7, a joint team from the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office, Dhangadhi, Nepal Police Province Office, Mahendranagar, and Area Police Office, Belauri conducted a raid on Friday.

During the search of Dagaura’s house, authorities seized:
1.Four leopard skins (small and large)
2.Four antlers (small and large)
3.Two deer jaws
4.Three small legs of wild animals
5.Three pieces of small jaws of wild animals
6.Three iron snares made from iron chains
7.Seven nets made from plastic ropes

Police arrested 40-year-old Shanti Chaudhary, wife of Pramod Dagaura, from the residence. Dagaura himself is currently at large, and authorities have launched a search operation to locate him, according to the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office, Dhangadhi.
