Dewan Singh returns home after 22 years of disappearance

Darchula: Dewan Singh Dhami of Darchula, who had been missing for 22 years, has finally returned home.

According to Bharat Bahadur Khadayat, Ward Chairman of Shailyashikhar Municipality-1, Dhami disappeared during the Maoist conflict and has now made his way back after more than two decades.

In 2059 BS (2002 AD), at the age of 17, Dhami fled his village after being brutally beaten by Maoist militants. Believed to be dead, he somehow survived and escaped to India via Baitadi.
