Deputy prime minister Singh vows to continue new and smart city projects

Tikapur: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has affirmed that the development of new and smart cities will continue despite previous setbacks due to political instability.

Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Birendra Vidya Mandir in Tikapur, Singh emphasized that the projects had been halted due to political uncertainties, but assured that efforts would now move forward. He also highlighted the role of education in urban development, stating that transforming Tikapur into an educational hub could significantly contribute to national progress.

Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, also present at the event, announced that the provincial government plans to establish a Science and Technology University in Tikapur, reinforcing the city's identity as an education center and urging collective support for the initiative.

188 Individuals Honored During Golden Jubilee Celebration
A total of 188 individuals from various sectors were honored as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Birendra Vidya Mandir.

Among the honorees were Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, former Minister and Legislative Assembly Representative Abdul Khan, Member of the House of Representatives Rupa Chaudhary, Sudurpaschim Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment Laxman Kishore Chaudhary, Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly Member Kailash Chaudhary, and former Members of Parliament Ganga Bahadur Kunwar and Resham Lal Chaudhary.

Additionally, renowned former students and Madan Puraskar winners Mahesh Bikram Shah and Vivek Ojha were recognized. Seven individuals, including former Minister Khadak Bahadur Singh and Principal Ratna Prasad Sajyal, were honored posthumously for their contributions to the school’s establishment.

Furthermore, six former chairpersons of the school, former Principal Bal Bahadur Rawal, and Thomas Varghese were also acknowledged for their contributions.
