Rs 5.27 crore school building to be constructed in Dhangadhi under Nepal-India development partnership
Dhangadhi: A new school building worth Rs 5.27 crore is set to be constructed at Siddhanath Secondary School in Jugeda, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-12 under the 'Nepal-India Development Partnership' program of the Government of India.
Last year, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, through the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of five model school buildings in Dhangadhi and submitted it to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. Siddhanath Secondary School's building will be constructed in the first phase of this initiative.
According to the Sub-Metropolitan City, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction will soon be signed, after which the bidding process will commence. The DPRs of Bhawani Secondary School (Ward No. 9), Thekraj Secondary School (Ward No. 11), Behdababa Secondary School (Ward No. 16), and Chandrodaya Secondary School (Ward No. 18) have also been submitted to the Indian Embassy for funding consideration.
Under the agreement, the Sub-Metropolitan City will contribute 10 percent of the total construction cost. Once the construction agreement is finalized, the school building is expected to be completed and handed over within 15 months, according to the secretariat of Mayor Gopal Hamal.
