Man arrested for setting fire to stubble in Darchula

Dhangadhi: A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Darchula for allegedly setting fire to stubble, causing significant damage to property.

According to the District Police Office, Darchula, Indra Bohara, a resident of Duhu Rural Municipality-3, was taken into custody on Monday for igniting seven stubble piles belonging to Chandra Singh Bohara, Gopal Bohara, and Padam Singh Bohara on Falgun 3. The fire damaged wood storage, nearby plants, and vegetable crops, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs 378,000.

Authorities have obtained a 7-day remand from the District Court, Darchula, to investigate Bohara on charges of criminal harassment.
