Dadeldhura: Local governments in Dadeldhura have initiated various skill development programs aimed at empowering women and enhancing their economic independence.

In Amargadhi Municipality-5, a beautician training program has been launched for 20 women in coordination with the ward office. According to Ward Chairperson Tanka Chhetri, the three-month training is expected to equip participants with the necessary skills to start their own businesses.

Similarly, all seven local levels of the district have been conducting skill-based training for women, including sewing, making duna tapari (leaf plates), hosiery, doll and flower garland making, pickle production, and incense making. These programs are being organized in collaboration with the Cottage and Small Industries Office and the Skill Development Center.

According to Narendra Panta, Information Officer at the Cottage and Small Industries Office, 54 women received various skill development training in the last fiscal year (2080/81). Office Chief Keswaraj Bhandari noted that women are increasingly drawn to these opportunities as the training programs, which focus on entrepreneurship and self-employment, are offered free of charge.
