Child fatally struck by bus in Bajura

Dhangadhi: A four-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a bus in Bajura.

The victim, Nishu Luhar, son of Kul Luhar of Budhiganga Municipality-8, was fatally hit by a bus (No. Sudurpaschim Province 01-001-1020) on the Sanfe-Martadi road section near Betalmandou Bazaar. The bus was en route from the district headquarters Martadi to Mahendranagar, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri of the District Police Office, Bajura.

The tragic incident occurred at 3:33 PM on Thursday, with the boy dying on the spot. The police have taken the bus and its driver, 49-year-old Diwakar Bhatta of Beldandi Rural Municipality-1 in Kanchanpur, into custody. An investigation into the incident is underway.
