Young man dies of rabies at Seti provincial hospital
Dhangadhi: A 29-year-old man from Mohanyal Rural Municipality in Kailali has succumbed to rabies at Seti Provincial Hospital, according to the Sudurpaschim Province Health Directorate, Dipayal.
The man was admitted to the hospital on Paush 22, four months after being bitten by a dog in India and displaying symptoms of rabies. Dr. Khagendra Bahadur Bam, Acting Chief of the Province Health Directorate, confirmed the death, stating that the rabies infection occurred because the victim did not receive a rabies vaccination after the dog bite in India.
Dr. Bam emphasized the importance of timely vaccination to prevent rabies, urging individuals bitten by dogs, cats, or other wild animals to seek immediate medical attention and vaccination.
