Stolen motorcycle recovered from riverbank in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A motorcycle stolen from Attariya, Kailali, has been recovered from the bank of a river. The vehicle belonged to 25-year-old Vivek Nagri, a resident of Godavari Municipality-2 near the drinking water area.

Nagri had filed a complaint with the Area Police Office, Malakheti, reporting the theft of his Pulsar motorcycle, bearing the registration number Sudurpaschim Province 02-003 Pa 3968, from the courtyard of his home. Acting on the complaint, the police launched a search operation.

During the operation, a police team from the Area Police Office, Malakheti, located the stolen motorcycle abandoned on the banks of the Khairana River in Godavari Municipality-4 on Friday evening. The recovered motorcycle has been handed back to its owner, Vivek Nagri.

Although the vehicle was recovered, authorities have yet to apprehend the individual responsible for the theft. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ganga Bahadur Thapa of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, stated that an investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

The police have noted a recent rise in motorcycle thefts in the Kailali district.
