Comedian Hikmat Mahara passes away in motorcycle accident

Dhangadhi: Hikmat Mahara, a renowned comedian from Shuklaphanta Municipality-1, Bansaha, Kanchanpur, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday evening in Godavari, Kailali.

Mahara, who rose to fame as a top-four finalist in the popular comedy reality show Comedy Champion 2, sustained severe injuries when his motorcycle (Ma 2 Pa 9117) lost control near the road leading to the Godavari Temple. He was rushed to Seti Provincial Hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to the Sudurpaschim Province Traffic Police Office, Attariya.

Mahara's journey in Comedy Champion 2 began with a digital audition, where he was selected from 6,000 contestants. Advancing through the top 24, 15, and 11 stages, he reached the top 4 before being eliminated based on audience votes.

A native of Bansaha, Mahara completed his Plus Two education at Siddhabaijanath Secondary School and earned a B.Ed. from Krishna Baijanath Multiple Campus, Jhalari. His comedic performances often highlighted societal distortions, anomalies, and political scenarios, showcasing his unique perspective on pressing issues.

In addition to comedy, Mahara operated the Godavari Ping and had recently been residing temporarily in Godavari, Kailali. His untimely death has left fans and the entertainment community in mourning.
