Kanchanpur: A shocking case has come to light in Belauri Municipality-6, Bhurakot, Kanchanpur, where a woman has admitted to killing her husband.

Siyaram Rana, 49, was initially reported to have died after slipping in the toilet of his home. However, upon investigation by a police team led by Inspector Bhaskar Chand from the Area Police Office, Belauri, evidence suggested foul play.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rana's body not in the toilet but in a corner of the gallery, covered with a cloth. During the search, multiple injuries were observed on the head and scalp of the deceased, and blood stains were discovered on the room's walls, furniture, doors, and other areas of the house. A blood-stained brick was found under the bed, along with blood-stained clothes in a drawer.

Following interrogation, the deceased's wife, 43-year-old Janak Kumari Rana, confessed to the crime. She admitted to striking her husband on the head with a brick while he was sleeping after a heated argument earlier that morning.

The police have taken her into custody, and the Kanchanpur District Court has granted a 10-day remand for further investigation. Two blood-stained bricks, a mobile phone, a zebra bag, and men’s and women’s blood-stained clothes have been seized as evidence.
