Home minister urges security agencies to embrace innovative thinking
Dhangadhi: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has called on security agency officials to approach their responsibilities with innovative thinking and proactive strategies.
Speaking at the Far Western Province-level security seminar inaugurated in Dhangadhi, Minister Lekhak emphasized the critical role of the police in safeguarding borders, combating criminal activities, managing disasters, and fostering social harmony. "We must ensure a situation where people can fully exercise their rights. Maintaining peace, the rule of law, security, and discipline is imperative for the country," he stated.
The Home Minister also announced plans to introduce a new law in the upcoming parliamentary session to update and modernize the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Act.
The seminar, organized collaboratively by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, includes the participation of security agency chiefs and representatives from all nine districts of the province.
