Illegal goods worth 18 lakhs seized in Kailali; Driver flees

Dhangadhi: Police in Kailali have seized illegal goods worth Rs. 18 lakhs. The District Police Office Kailali, along with its subordinate units, conducted the operation on Thursday. According to Kavindrasingh Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office Kailali, illegal goods valued at Rs. 1,824,240 were confiscated from various locations in the district.

The driver of a pick-up vehicle, registered as 01001 Ch 3957, fled the scene when police attempted to stop the vehicle in Kailari Rural Municipality-8, Lausa forest. The vehicle was found carrying 41 sacks of sugar, estimated to be worth 1,684,500 rupees.

In addition, police seized other illegal goods from different areas, including plastic items, bananas, chocolates, and tobacco from Tikapur Municipality-8 and Ward No. 9, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, valued at Rs. 68,940. Further recoveries included sugar and tobacco worth  Rs. 19,700 from Surmi, and illegal potatoes, electric motors, and plastic mesh worth Rs. 51,100 from Bhajani Municipality-5, Kabkheda Ghat.
