Agricultural Officer and Employees Arrested for Bribery in Darchula
Dhangadhi: Agricultural Technician Mohansingh Dhami and Agricultural Deputy Technical Assistant (JTA) Ashoksingh Dhami of Shailyashikhar Municipality, Darchula, were arrested for accepting a bribe of NPR 4,12,000.
The Office of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission, Mahendranagar, conducted the arrest on Monday based on complaints that the officials were demanding bribes from service users for commissions while processing bills for agricultural groups.
The arrests took place in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-4 Boradandi, Kailali. The investigation team seized NPR 4,12,000 in cash from the suspects. Additionally, they recovered five checks totaling NPR 45,60,000 and two checks of NPR 2,50,000 drawn in the name of JTA Dhami, along with a check for NPR 5,60,000.
The arrests were made following a complaint that Dhami and his assistant had requested bribes from customers in exchange for processing bills. The total amount of seized checks was NPR 50,60,000. The commission stated that further investigations are ongoing.
