PM Dahal leaves for New Delhi
Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' embarked on India visit today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
PM Dahal was bade farewell by Speaker of House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson, Narayan Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers Raghubir Mahaseth and Narayankaji Shrestha, ministers, parliamentarians, high-ranking officials of Government of Nepal and Chiefs of security agencies.
On the occasion, a contingent of Nepali Army offered a guard of honour to PM Dahal who is visiting India at the cordial invitation of Indian PM Modi. The Prime Minister is accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri and senior officials of the government. Bharatiya Janata Party's leader Modi is scheduled to take oath as the Prime Minister for the third stint today evening in the Indian capital city-New Delhi. The Heads of States and Governments from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mauritius were also invited by the Indian government to attend the swearing-in ceremony, it is learnt.
PM Dahal would hold a meeting with his Indian counterpart Modi today itself, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. PM Dahal will return home on Monday.
