Prolonged Road Construction Nears Completion in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi -The long-delayed Shahidgate-Rajghat road project, which has been under construction for four years, is finally nearing completion.
The Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city of Kailali and Adventure Construction Company had signed an agreement on June 14, 2077, to construct a 1.2 km road at a cost of NPR 34.7 million. However, progress has been significantly delayed.
The project faced numerous setbacks, but recent developments have brought hope to the local community. Raj Bahadur Air, the ward chairman of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-3, confirmed that the construction company has resumed work after the sub-metropolitan city managed to provide the necessary materials for creating the blacktop.
Ward Chairman Air explained that the city mayor Gopal Hamal, played a crucial role in restarting the project. During a tripartite meeting, Hamal assured that the company supplying the materials for the blacktop would receive timely payments, which enabled the resumption of construction. "The construction company has received the materials after the city’s mayor Gopal Hamal said that he will not stop paying the company that supplies the materials needed to make black paper," said Air.
With the management of materials, technicians, and other human resources now in place, the construction work is set to be completed by June of the current financial year. Despite previous extensions and delays, the construction company has made significant progress. A concrete bridge across the Mohana River, connecting Rajghat in Kanchanpur with Dhangadhi, has been completed. However, the road's uneven surface has caused difficulties for locals, with asphalt being laid twice and one side still pending.
Ward Chairman Air remains optimistic, stating, "The work has started after the materials are available. The work will be completed in three days." The completion of this road will significantly improve connectivity between Dhangadhi and Rajghat, alleviating the hardships faced by residents due to the prolonged construction. As the project inches closer to its conclusion, the local community eagerly anticipates the improved infrastructure, which is expected to enhance transportation and contribute to the region's overall development.
