Private School in Doti Transferred to Public Ownership by Ward President
Doti: A significant gesture of community service has been made in Doti, as a private school has been handed over to the public domain by a ward president.
Kedar Model Boarding School, situated in Shikhar Municipality-1 Gumgaon, has undergone a transformation into a public institution. Deepak Bogti, serving as both the ward president and school manager, facilitated the transfer of ownership to the nearby Durgadevi Basic School, aiming to enhance educational standards within the community.
Utilizing the entire budget allocated to the ward by Shikhar Municipality in the previous fiscal year, amounting to 30 lakh rupees, Bogti directed investments towards the educational enhancement of five community schools under the ward's jurisdiction. Established in 2071 BS through joint investments from Bogti and local youth organization Chhatra Zora, Kedar Model Boarding School has served approximately 140 students.
Ward President Bogti disclosed that all furniture and educational materials from the boarding school have been duly handed over to Durgadevi Basic School, which offers education up to class 8 and currently enrolls 143 students. The close proximity of private and public schools had previously led to the division of students from the village. However, a collaborative effort between students, parents, teachers, and public representatives from both institutions has been forged, pledging to collectively contribute towards enhancing the quality of education at Durgadevi Basic School.
