Police Officer Injured in Bajhang After Confrontation; Two Arrested
Bajhang: A police officer sustained injuries in Bajhang following a clash with locals, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
In Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-9, Jhota market area, tensions escalated when local youths engaged in stone-pelting, resulting in injury to a police constable. The incident occurred during the late hours of Sunday night, as 32-year-old Vinod Rawal from Durgathali Rural Municipality-2 and Dinesh Mahar from Jayaprithbi Municipality-7, both lodging at Hotel KMD in Jhota Bazar, engaged in an altercation fueled by alcohol consumption.
Upon receiving a distress call from hotel proprietor Kausheela Dhami, a police team of four, led by Police Constable Ganesh Malla, was dispatched to the scene. In the course of apprehending Rawal and Mahar, Vinod Rawal hurled a stone at Assistant Police Constable Yogendra Khadka, stationed at Dhuli Bajhang.
Assistant Police Constable Khadka sustained head injuries due to the stone pelting and is currently receiving treatment at District Hospital Bajhang, following initial care at the primary health post in Jhota. Rawal and Mahar, now in police custody, are undergoing interrogation. Police Inspector Chaudhary stated that the injured constable's condition is stable.
