Leopard Trapped in Hunter's Snare in Kanchanpur Forest Area

Kanchanpur: A distressing incident unfolded in the Chure forest region of Kanchanpur as a leopard fell victim to a hunter's trap.

Reports from Krishnapur Municipality-1, Motipur, reveal that a leopard was ensnared by a hunter in the Dipendra Smriti Community Forest area. Bhimprasad Kandel, the head of Divisional Forest Office Kanchanpur, confirmed that the leopard was captured in a net laid by individuals engaged in illegal hunting activities targeting wildlife.

Fortunately, the leopard's health condition remains stable, with only minor injuries observed on one of its legs. Kandel reassured that the leopard will receive necessary medical treatment before being safely released back into its natural habitat within the forest.

This incident underscores the ongoing challenge of wildlife conservation and the critical need for enhanced efforts to combat illicit hunting practices threatening the region's biodiversity.
