Anupama Corporate League Veteran Cup Cricket Tournament Set to Kick Off in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: Cricket enthusiasts in Dhangadhi are gearing up for the Anupama Corporate League Veteran Cup cricket tournament, scheduled to take place at Chandra Surya Khel Maidan in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan ward number 3 from the 3rd to the 11th of Chaitra.

During a press conference held today, the organizers announced that the competition is designed for players aged 33 and above, coinciding with the Holi festival. Hosted by Anupama Bakery and Cafe on Dhangadhi Old Customs Road, the tournament aims to foster cricketing talent among seasoned players.

Raj Bahadur Air, the chief guest of the press conference and ward president of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan ward number 3, commended the private sector's efforts in promoting cricket. Registration is open for players across the region, encouraging widespread participation.

Dinesh Pant, the tournament coordinator and owner of Anupama Bakery, revealed the enticing prize pool, with the winning team set to receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and the runner-up awarded Rs 25,000. Individual accolades include a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the best player, while the best batsman and bowler will each receive Rs 5,000.

In a bid to add excitement to the tournament, cash incentives will be provided to players achieving remarkable feats on the field. Additionally, strict eligibility criteria have been implemented, limiting participation to individuals with citizenship up to 2047 BS.

Eight teams from the Far Western Province are slated to compete, with a team registration fee of Rs 12,000 set for entry into the competition. Anupama Bakery spearheads the event as the primary sponsor, a testament to their commitment to cricket development in the region.
