Three Arrested in Dhangadhi with Customs Evasion Goods Exceeding 12 Lakhs
Dhangadhi: In a significant operation carried out on Wednesday, authorities in Dhangadhi apprehended three individuals for their involvement in smuggling goods worth lakhs, evading customs duties.
The seizure, conducted in Jugeda, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-10, resulted in the recovery of fish, boiler chickens, one tractor, and two motorcycles, collectively valued at 12 lakh 34 thousand 800 rupees.
Among those arrested is 18-year-old Ram Rana, identified as the tractor driver from Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-10, who was transporting fish and boiler chicken at the time of his arrest.
Furthermore, 18-year-old Prashant Rana and 26-year-old Kamles Rana, both residents of the same municipality, were apprehended while transporting boiler chicken on a motorcycle.
Kuldeep Chand, spokesperson for the District Police Office Kailali, confirmed the arrests and stated that the individuals, along with the confiscated goods, have been transferred to the Customs Office in Trinagar for further legal proceedings.
Authorities emphasize their commitment to combating illegal activities and ensuring compliance with customs regulations to maintain law and order in the region.
