Enforcement of Farmer Card Regulations Leads to Arrest of Two Individuals in Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: In a proactive move to uphold regulations, the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city police apprehended two individuals, Sahil Khan and Shahrukh Khan, for failing to produce valid farmer cards. The arrests took place this morning at Trinagar Krishi Haat Bazar, situated in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan ward number-1.
Upon inspection at the entrance, city police officials discovered that both individuals lacked the required farmer's cards. Despite the absence of proper documentation, the two attempted to enter the bustling market. When confronted by the city police inside, they not only refused to comply but also resorted to verbal abuse, subsequently discarding their own vegetables and engaging in a physical altercation with law enforcement.
Trinagar Krishi Hatbazaar had previously witnessed irregular operations dominated by wholesalers, leaving genuine farmers struggling to sell their produce. In a bid to rectify this situation and facilitate the seamless sale and distribution of agricultural products by Dhangadhi farmers, the sub-metropolis introduced a rule mandating the possession of a valid farmer's card for participation in the Trinagar Krishi Haat Market.
This initiative aims to bring order to the market, eliminating the arbitrary influence of middlemen and ensuring that authentic farmers can efficiently sell and distribute their agricultural yield. The sub-metropolitan city has diligently distributed farmer cards to eligible individuals as part of its commitment to fostering a conducive environment for local farmers.
