Stray Cow Found Deceased After Consuming Poisonous Substances in Pahalmanpur
Dhangadhi: Tragic incidents unfolded in the Pahalmanpur area of Ghodaghodi Municipality-10, Kailali, as two cows were discovered lifeless on Saturday morning.
Upon examination, no apparent external wounds were observed on the deceased cows. Consequently, a veterinarian was consulted, revealing that the cows had ingested pesticides. Jaluram Chaudhary, the Ward Chairman of Ghodaghodi Municipality-10, suggested that farmers in the vicinity, who had been adversely affected by stray cattle, might be responsible for their demise through the use of these harmful substances. Chaudhary promptly informed the mayor's office to arrange for the removal of the deceased bovines.
While the authorities took swift action to collect the deceased cow, concerns arose regarding the individual(s) who had administered the poisonous substances. Local residents expressed discontent, alleging that their reports of the cow's death, potentially caused by the same poison, were not adequately addressed by Khadak Bahadur Rawat, the city chief.
This distressing incident highlights the pressing need to address the issue of stray cattle and underscores the importance of responsible agricultural practices that prioritize animal welfare and environmental safety. Authorities are urged to conduct a thorough investigation to identify those accountable for this tragic incident, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
