Dhangadhi: A dedicated young man has embarked on a silent fast within the premises of the Sudurpaschim Pradesh Assembly, demanding the immediate commencement of operations at the Martyr Dashrath Chand National Health Sciences University in Geta, Kailali.

Pavartraj Joshi, hailing from Godavari Municipality, Ward No. 1, has commenced his hunger strike coinciding with the session of the Sudurpaschim Pradesh Assembly. Undeterred by the scorching summer heat in Dhangadhi, he has positioned himself at the entrance of the state assembly, emphasizing the pressing need for a fully functional 600-bed hospital in Geta.

His hunger strike commenced on Monday morning and has garnered support throughout the Far West region, where demands for the establishment of the university in Geta have been voiced. In response to a general strike scheduled for Sunday, a demonstration is currently underway in front of the provincial assembly, restricting the entry of assembly members.

The steadfast determination of Pavartraj Joshi stands as a testament to the urgency of this issue, as he peacefully advocates for the operation of the university and the subsequent benefits it would bring to the community.
