Sweltering Heatwave Grips Dhangadhi: Temperature Soars to 40.4 Degrees

Dhangadhi: The scorching heatwave has tightened its grip on Kailali and Kanchanpur, with Dhangadhi experiencing a staggering temperature of 40.4 degrees on Friday. According to the Air and Water Field Office in Attaria, the temperature in Dhangadhi had dropped by 40 degrees on Thursday.
This unprecedented rise in temperature, exceeding 40 degrees, is expected to persist for a consecutive week in the Terai districts of Kailali and Kanchanpur. Such extreme weather conditions are unusual for these regions.

However, relief may be on the horizon as the temperature is predicted to decrease from the upcoming Thursday, accompanied by the possibility of intermittent rainfall. Friday afternoon witnessed both districts surpassing the 40-degree mark. Furthermore, the heat is anticipated to intensify from Saturday onwards.
Saturday is projected to see Kanchanpur reach a scorching 41 degrees, while Kailali is expected to reach a sweltering 42 degrees. Sunday will offer little respite, with both districts witnessing temperatures of 42 degrees Celsius. A slight drop of one degree is forecasted for Monday, with temperatures hovering at 41 degrees, followed by a further decrease to 40 degrees on Tuesday.
Residents are urged to take necessary precautions and employ measures to combat the extreme heat during this challenging period. Staying hydrated and seeking shelter in cool environments are crucial steps in safeguarding one's well-being amidst such soaring temperatures.
