Illegal Timber Seized in Darchula: 51 Pieces Recovered

Darchula: Authorities in Darchula have successfully seized a cache of illegal timber. A total of 51 pieces of wood were discovered within the Sutala Community Forest, located in Changru, Byas Rural Municipality, Ward No. 1 of the district.

The timber was recovered by the forest committee, acting upon confidential information. During the operation, an axe and a machete were also found at the site where the wood had been cut. Upon spotting the presence of authorities, the individuals involved in the illicit activity fled the scene.

Efforts to combat illegal logging and protect the region's valuable forest resources remain ongoing as authorities work diligently to enforce regulations and preserve the environment.
