Elephant Intrusion Alert: Unprecedented Entry into Bikas Basti Raises Concerns in Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: A notable incident unfolded in Kanchanpur as an elephant made its way into Bikas Basti, situated in Purnawas Municipality ward number-10, during daylight hours on Tuesday. The unexpected arrival of the elephant resulted in injuries to two animals within the settlement.
Dinesh Kumar Yadav, the Head of Sub Division Forest Office in Kunda, confirmed the incident and provided insights into the situation. According to Yadav, the elephant entered the settlement suddenly while local residents were engaged in their fieldwork. Prompt action by the community, including the efforts of the Sub Division Forest Office staff, prevented any significant harm to human life.
Yadav further revealed that the elephant appears to be heading towards India's Dudhuwa National Park. Continuous monitoring and coordination efforts are underway to ensure the safety of both the local populace and the wandering elephant.
