Mahendranagar Road Division Office to Construct Attariya-Chisapani Road with Asphalt Technology
Dhangadhi: Mahendranagar Road Division Office has initiated the process of upgrading and improving the road from Attariya to Chisapani in Kailali using asphalt technology. The 65 km stretch of road has been divided into two parts and work has commenced on the necessary upgrades.
Improvement and maintenance work has been underway on this road section since the beginning of the current fiscal year. According to Piyush Chatouti, Engineer and Information Officer of Road Division Office Mahendranagar, the work was completed last year as a pilot project for that section.
While general maintenance work is currently underway, the repair and improvement work was contracted to be completed by May, but no companies applied for the project worth four and a half million. As a result, a notice has recently been issued to shift to asphalt technology, as suggested by the road department.
After none of the construction companies showed interest in the construction of the project worth Rs. 4-5 crores, Engineer Chatout informed that a notice was issued only recently to go to asphalt (equipment for heating and mixing asphalt) after the road department suggested to contract the technology of Nepalgunj. "A notice has been issued to go for this technology, since the deadline is still 12-15 days, after the contract is opened, technical evaluation will be done first, then financial evaluation will be done and the work will proceed."
