Government to Provide Subsidies for Earthquake-Affected Families in Five Districts of Far West Nepal
Kailali: The government has announced subsidies for families affected by earthquakes in five districts of Far West Nepal. The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, approved the decision to provide two installments of subsidy to families whose homes were completely destroyed in the earthquakes of 2078 and 2079 BS.
A total of 5,880 houses in Doti, Acham, Bajura, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, Lamjung, and Khotang were severely damaged during the earthquakes that struck these regions in Jestha 2078 BS, Shrawan 2078 BS, Karthik 2079 BS, and Magh 2079 BS. The committee decided to provide subsidies to affected families in seven districts whose homes were destroyed in the disaster.
